KEVIN ROUGHTON
Kevin Roughton, a native of eastern North Carolina, began taking guitar lessons at the age of seven and was playing professionally six years later. In the late 70's, after playing in numerous country and rock and roll bands, Kevin took time out to study classical guitar for two years.
In 1982, Kevin began playing solo as well as performing with various bands on the Outer Banks when he met bassist Tom Scheel in 1987. Kevin's dedication to keeping acoustic music and its technique the focus of the band is creatively presented in his unique rhythmic guitar style complemented with his smooth baritone voice.
TOM SCHEEL
A native of Richmond, Virginia, bassist Tom Scheel began his musical training at the age of ten. Later in Louisville, Kentucky, he immersed himself in both the classical and popular music scene in the region. Tom holds various degrees in applied percussion and orchestral conducting/music analysis and has worked with various musical and stage groups including the Richmond Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic and Asheville Symphony Orchestra. Tom's tenor voice combined with his smooth bass style and percussive undertones create the solid foundation for the creative and unique sound that is the Wilder Brothers.
